I’ve welded in the replacement rear cross member and the front of the trunk floor where it attached to the transition pan. After welding up the cross member and grinding down all the welds I test fit the tail light panel. The noticed in the panel did not line up with the cross members notches. I was baffled. I measured everything over and over to make sure it was positioned properly before I welded it up. It was off center 1/4″ from towards the drivers side of the car.
Disgusted, I ordered a new cross member. It’s simply easier to cut it out and replace it then drill out the welds to salvage the metal. Once the replacement arrive I tried again and go it correct.
