Mustang Rebuild

Last weekend I finally began welding the passenger side quarter panel into place. I’m finally happy with the fit of the full quarter replacement. I only have a few welds left along the bottom edge behind the rear tire. I plan to leave them alone until I get the drivers side quarter replaced. Then I will test fit the rear apron, tail light panel, and bumper. I’ll make sure the rear end looks symetrical and then finish welding up the quarters. This was definately a big job. More work than replacing the floors and cowl.

I’ve been vacationing over the past month and not much has progressed on the mustang as a result. However I did commit to the passenger quarter panel after tweaking the alingment of the body parts. The wheelhouse is now welded into place. I need to grind down a few of the messy welds and paint so this area won’t rust. After that I just need to weld up the quarter panel. One more adjustment to make sure it’s aligned well since I took it off to weld up the wheelhouse and Im done with this side.
